Akureyri

I recently went to Akureyri for a much-needed weekend getaway, this town is known for some of the most beautiful fresh water fishing spots in North Iceland, so naturally, our itinerary was filled with hiking and fishing. I wore a mixture of Y-3 winter staples and 66North new collection.

We stayed at the Icelandair hotel Akureyri which is in the town centre. My room had huge windows that overlook the beautiful landscape, and they have a heated pool just across the street so you can swim even when it’s snowing! They also have huge comfy beds and a nice size bathrooms which is great for someone like me that reavels with an excessive amount of beauty products! Some of the most iconic places to see is the church, located in the centre of the city, and towering above the city on a hill, it was designed by Guðjón Samúelsson, and completed in 1940. For food the hotel has an amazing breakfast buffet that kept us happy all day, and for desert check our Brynja Ice-cream, a local legend.

The rooms are big and it´s great to have some extra space if you need to work while travelling

The breakfast is more like brunch, keeps you full all day, with some locale delicatessen.
